Rolling Down to Old Maui
Rolling Down to Old Maui is a ballad that would have been sung during the crew's leisure time. Sometimes known as Rolling Down to Old Mohee, it expresses the anticipation of the crew on its return to Maui in the Sandwich Islands (Hawaii) from a season of whaling in the arctic. The earliest known version was collected from the 1858 logbook of the ship Atkus Adams.
