Traditional Chilean song, "Las Naranjas"
Traditional Chilean music usually has an old spanish influence, yet it carries its own peculiar expression of the people of that land down south. While much is rather sad and melancholic, this 19th century traditional Chilean folksong, "Las Naranjas" is a happy song. Both verse and chorus are sung to the same melody which is characteristic of the oldest of traditional Chilean songs. to hear a clip of "Las Naranjas", click on the "play music" button above.
