Horse Salts

Also known as Glauber's salt, or sal mirabils, it is the sodium salt of sulfuric acid. It was discovered in 1625 by a chemist and apothecary, Johann Glauber. It was used for medicinal purposes, as a general purpose laxitive, until the early 1900s. Today it is used for the manufacture of detergents and in paper production.
