The space in the upper hold near the main hatch. It was a workroom into which large blanket pieces of blubber were lowered from the deck. Here the blubber was cut from the large blanket pieces into smaller pieces and sent back up on deck to the tryworks. This photo shows the area known as the blubber room in the Charles W.
