Whaleboats are double-ended, allowing them to move easily both forwards and backwards. They are typically oar-powered, but for whaling they also frequently had a removable mast and sails. This is an elaborate wooden model of a whaleboat, including the following parts: fittings; wooden mast; boom; 6 marked and sized oars; 6 harpoons; hook; assorted gear; center board; and a rudder.
